Agnes L. Smith Elementary School, Ethel Dwyer Middle School and Huntington Beach High School are the surrounding assigned public schools. Smith Elementary School received a nine out of ten from the API ratings average, and students test in math and English well above the state average. Following a similar pattern to Smith, Ethel Dwyer Middle School also received a nine out of ten using the API rating system, and English and math proficiency are both well above the state average. The school also offers several choices of clubs, including drama, music, marine biology, photography, running and yearbook. Ethel Dwyer Middle School is also a part of the Junior National Honors Society. Plenty of after-school sports are available at Ethel Dwyer as well: basketball, volleyball, soccer cross country, track and field and surfing.
Huntington Beach High School received a ten out of ten on the GreatSchools rating system and is a California Distinguished School. Students rank much higher than the state average in English and math proficiency. The high school has a 99% graduation rate, far above the state average of 81%. Of that group, 67% are eligible to attend a university in the CSU or CU system, compared to the 42% state average. The school is also the host campus for the audition-only magnet art’s program, the Academy for the Performing Arts school (APA). Available programs to study at APA consist of acting, costume design, dance, dramatic production, MMET Media, MMET Popular Music, musical theatre, orchestra and technical theatre. A wide array of sports of are offered at Huntington Beach High School, including water polo, volleyball, tennis, golf, football, cross country, field hockey, basketball, soccer, wrestling, baseball, lacrosse, swimming, softball, track and surfing—in fact, Huntington Beach was the first school to ever have a Varsity surf team.
Pier Colony Condos are the ultimate luxury condominiums with excellent amenities in a prime location. Whether you stay in or go out, activities are seemingly endless. Take a dip in the saltwater pool or walk down to your favorite restaurant on Main Street. Of course there are some things that would not work for everybody. As it is a multi-residence property, there are no yards and the square footage will be smaller than the average house in Huntington Beach. And while the location is excellent, that would of course mean a high volume of out-of-towners and foot-traffic heading to Huntington State Beach, Main Street and Pacific City.
